To avoid either OVER- OR UNDER-REACTING, we should validate that the Positive or Negative Event (Problem) we feel pressure to respond to, is really important to us, and those we care about.

How to UNDERSTAND YOUR conflict & need?

To avoid just jumping to a solution, we should list BOTH options we have on how to RESPOND (the conflict) and for each option, list both the unique PROS you want and unique CONS you don’t want (the need).

How to find a win:win to RESOLVE your conflict?

To avoid having to live with any CONS or lose out on any PROS (the need), Harmony will guide you to create 4 win:win Resolutions so you can select the one with the most PROS and least CONS

How to ensure your solution will not FAIL?

To avoid the risk of your selected breakthrough failing, you and other people involved, should raise as many “Yes-Buts” and how to overcome these (the Yes-Ands) that can be added to your solution to reduce the risk of a bad outcome.

How to test your solution with an EXPERIMENT?

To avoid investing too much time and/or money before knowing whether your solution will actually work, Harmony will create a summary of the Why, What and How of your analysis to share with others that can help you test it with an experiment.

How to SHARE and LEARN from others

To collaborate and get feedback or allow others to learn from your experience, you can share your analysis via the Harmony App. If you do get stuck, you can also go to the Community Library to learn from other users that shared their analysis.

We're always trying to find ways to make HARMONY easier to use. Now, once you’ve logged in, you’ll see 5 tabs, allowing you to navigate directly to the S&T or Decisions you’re looking for. Select the ones you’d like to work with and then select whether you’ll be working online or offline.

Online HARMONY How-to-Guide

Our HARMONY Web App can be overwhelming to new users, which is why we’ve put together an online How-to-Guide which you can find at webapp.harmonyapps.com that provides a functionality overview and instructions for using:

Language Translation

Because we have users from over 60 countries, we’ve introduced a language translation functionality so that all users can enjoy webapp.harmonyapps.com and www.goldrattresearchlabs.com in their native languages. To enable this tool, click Language Translation in the top right corner above the Login button. Let us know how accurate it is.

My Tasks

Users with a HARMONY Change Maker subscription can now see all of the tasks for open S&Ts to which they’ve been assigned as Strategy Owner, Tactic Manager or Task participant. To access this option, click on the Grid View icon from the top menu bar and select the new My Tasks tab.

CCPM for S&T Execution

Dr. Eli Goldratt’s 1997 publication of Critical Chain introduced what is now considered best practice for Project Planning & Execution. Harmony now makes it simple to apply CCPM best practices to the planning and execution of your Strategy & Tactic Tree. Our Beta users are raving about the ease and speed with which you can create a CCPM buffered plan with a 25% shorter lead time within the S&T Planning module and then use the S&T Execution module to simply update when tactics are completed and when strategies are achieved and view your progress on a familiar simplified CCPM fever chart

New HISTORY Feature

Our new HISTORY feature allows you to restore your S&Ts to an earlier point in time, by accessing the last 100 saved versions for that S&T. On the homepage, simply click “History” in the “Actions” part for the selected S&T tree.

Improved Security with HTTPS

At Harmony, we are committed to providing our customers with a secure cloud database and web app to ensure that your S&T and other valuable information remains "for your eyes only". Our webpage and web app now employ SSL protocol to encrypt sensitive information for secure internet transmission.

Harmony Mobile for iPad & iPhone

Did you know that there are two Harmony S&T Apps for the iPhone and iPad? There is a free version that contain all five generic S&Ts created by Dr. Eli Goldratt as well as a Throughput Accounting based Financial model to check the financial impact of proposed changes. There is also a paid version which will allow you to import any S&T created on either the Harmony Desktop or Web App to be available for viewing right on your iPhone or iPad. You simply email the S&T to yourself, and use the “Open With” to import the S&T into the Paid App. The two Harmony apps are available here and here

New HARMONY Demo Video

We’ve created a new Harmony Web App demo video for you that provides a quick overview of the 5 common mistakes within Strategy & Tactic design, validation, planning, execution and auditing and shows how HARMONY’s 5 S&T modules can be used to eliminate these. This video is ideal for new users or as a quick refresher of Harmony’s functionality when you are facilitating a workshop.

Just released to Apple’s App Store, Goldratt’s Dice Game, offers a fun and engaging simulation to help you (re-)discover the amazing lessons to be learned from the Dice Game introduced by Dr. Eli Goldratt in The Goal. The app help users to understand why interdependency and variation makes it so difficult to predict performance potential for even a simple factory and how to find counter-intuitive ways to improve its profitability.
